Refugees are the people forced to flee their country because they have been persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership of a particular social group. Refugees do not choose to leave their country, and they can never go back to their country. Refugee Highway Partnership reaches out to individuals, faith-based schools, community organisations and churches around the world to join the initiative on either day by organising a Refugee Sunday in their schools, congregation, youth group, Sunday school or small group.

Refugee Sunday is a period of common prayer day in which the Churches are encouraged to focus on refugees and forcible displacement-related issues.


It is a time when the Church across the Globe come together in their own locality to pray and support the refugees.


It is a time for young people and children to be encouraged to pray, worship, reflect, organise workshops, Bible studies and other such activities to bring awareness about Refugees and Internally displaced communities.

World Refugee Sunday is an opportunity for you to join other churches around the world in praying for refugees and internally displaced people. We invite you and your church to participate in remembering those who are persecuted and oppressed worldwide.
